Last night, I dreamt my wife and I were sitting outside spending time together when everything just stopped. No, I don't mean we stopped spending time together. I mean everything around us (including us) froze, as if time all of a sudden time had come to a screeching halt. Then, everything started moving again. However, something was different. We were doing everything we had just done backwards! Time started to rewind on itself! Throughout the rest of my dream, it seemed that I had re-lived my entire life from that point, backwards.... And then I woke up.
I am not one to think my dreams really mean anything. However, they do make me ponder the possibilities. My dream last night made me think of how our universe works. Now, I know I am not a physicist, but I have heard of a theory that says something along these lines: "As space expands, Time slows".
I pondered on this this morning:
- If there is fact to this theory, is it possible space and time would eventually come to a halt and even reverse itself like in my dream.
- Is it possible that the retraction of the universe is/was the cause of the big bang?
- Physicists can't figure out what happened right before the big bang. Could it be because what happened right after the big bang IS what happend right before the big bang?
** Is it possible that we are living the same life over and over and over again in an everlasting expanding/contracting universe? **
Bleh, I need some coffee.....
